Preaching at several local congregations

Internship at Greenlawn Church of Christ, Lubbock with Youth and Bus Ministries

1975-1985, 1996-1997 – Full time ministry with Youth, Bus Ministry, Pulpit Minister, College and University Campus Minister. 

McPherson, KS – 3 ½ years – about 17 baptisms a year

Joplin, MO – 1 ½ years

Tonkawa, OK – 3 years – campus work and preaching. Campus from 3 students to 45 per year with about 20 baptisms.

Iowa City, IA – 2 years – Mission Work on the University of Iowa Campus – did constant fund raising and outreach – money ran out – had several baptisms, I don’t remember how many.

Mineral Wells, TX – 6 months – bad choice and didn’t work out – fired for no reason given

In sales for 1 ½ years

Cottonwood Church of Christ, Wylie, TX – 25 members when came and left with about 60 after 4 ½ years – a mission church in TX!

Eau Claire, WI – 6 ½ years – definitely a mission church in a mission state – growth from 45 to 90 with many campaigns and evangelist efforts.

Multiple conversions and emphasis on grounding new Christians in the word of God and in faith.

1998 to present working for York College in different jobs: softball coach, campus security, and men’s residence hall manager.

Summer of 2000 led a team of four to Kremenchuk, Ukraine on a 6 week mission trip

Continued to preach and teach at many area churches

Summer of 2001 worked with Eastern European Missions as a fund raiser for their Million Dollar Sunday, traveling to 5 states and speaking at 31 different churches

I have four children:

Douglas Jr. – Butch and his wife Erin, 26 years old, in his last year in Palmer Chiropractic College, Davenport, IA

Ben – 23, Graduated from York College and plans to go to Japan for a 5 year mission

Jenise – 20, a Freshman at Abilene Christian University, Art Major

Janessa – 17, a senior in High School at York High School, York, NE and living with me
